The mouth is one of the most essential body parts of a human. It is specifically where communication begins. To draw the mouth set into consideration the expression of one's subject because the mouth gives an impact on facial expression. When we laugh our mouth opens and it goes the same when we’re angry. So this may be a concern on drawing the mouth realistically. But then why don't we begin to learn the easy-to-follow steps on how to draw the mouth. This will guide you to create a lifelike mouth drawing. Have your drawing tools and supplies ready and then we begin learning the steps on how to draw the mouth.

Keen observation is the key step in sketching the mouth. Study the size and shape of your subject’s mouth as a way to create a life like looking mouth.

After taking a good peek on the subject’s mouth, now you may start drawing a horizontal line of where the mouth ought to be. Now, in the middle of your horizontal line produce a straight line.

Next sketch a slant line both on the left and right aspect of exactly where your horizontal and vertical lines meet. Make sure that the sizes of the angle of your slant lines are equal on both sides to keep your mouth proportion.

Make another angle line on top of your vertical line coherent to the first angle that you drew both on the left and right side. Make a light line to connect the top and bottom angles.

Next, draw one more angle coming from the horizontal line (the size of this angle is determined by the size of the mouth of your subject) towards the tip of your bottom angle (both on the left and right side).

Next, starting from the tip of the top angle on both sides draw a slant line going towards the the surface of the previous angle without touching it. This should look now as an outline of your upper lip.

After drawing the upper lip we are going to start outlining the lower lip by drawing another horizontal line beneath the center of the first horizontal line which you drew. The length of this line can be measured coherent to the tip of your first angle of your upper lip just make it a little bit longer. For the space between your first horizontal line provide more space than the measure of your upper lip for the reason that usually the lower lip is thicker than the upper lips (still it is dependent on the size of your subject’s lips).

As soon as it’s done, make two slant lines on each edges of your second horizontal line nearly touching the first horizontal line.

Then, return to the upper lip sketch and draw a slant line on the left and right side of the tip of the angle exactly where it touches the first horizontal line. Right after accomplishing this, draw one more slant line on the tip of the line that you have just drew forming it like a capital letter “T”.

What you have now is the outline of your mouth. You can now start putting curves to it to make it look lifelike. Incorporate necessary details to get a life like outcome.

Then start shading the upper and lower lip. Work with an eraser to clear out unnecessary lines to clean up your drawing.

Remember that every single subject has a distinct shape as well as character of mouth. The secret of drawing the mouth is always to become observant to the important details for you to createa proportion and realistic drawing. You could make this as your continuous guide in order to learn how to draw the mouth. Keep your drawing journey a fun filled one. Image
