You recently tried the exercise for parallel lines? Great!

How did it feel? What results can you see already?

Do you think it's necessary to practice this exercise from time to time?

I'd really love to hear from you. But please keep these rules in mind:
  • 1. I really like to see negative feedback as it helps me to improve. But please DO NOT use insulting or offending language - also not against other posters!
  • 2. For the sake of clarity I may move or remove your comments after several months.
  • 3. Please do not post here any personal information like e-mail addresses, passwords etc.
  • 4. For problems of technical nature please send an e-mail to support@drawings

I didn't receive the lesson on paralell lines. I think I would enjoy these
lessons alot more if the sound on the video was working. I have the latest flash
player and also I can play anyother video off of the internet and so I don't
know what the problem is. When I cahnged my security settings as you suggested
it caused problems elsewhere. and the video still diod not work. If you could
fix this Imight buy your course. I am also confused if your course is pencil
drawing or drawing in photoshop. You seem to have two things going on here and
it has caused me some confusion. I do like what you are doing in photoshop and
am very interested.

Dear April,

can you please send an email to support@drawingsecrets.com?
Then I will send you the parallel lines lesson.

Concerning the videos: thankyou
for telling me about the problems. I'll have a look into this and fix the
problem.

So far I haven't thought about doing any photoshop tutorials. So
everything on this site is on pencil drawing.

Happy drawing

hey there,
Im a cartoonist and luv drawing cartoons ,but a problem
that i always encounter is that the faces of people are pretty non-expressive
sometimes,so how do I pour expressions into their faces, Secondly, The symmetry
of the faces sometimes gets altered, how do I rectify that?

Kindly help..Thanx
Ruediger  - Drawing Cartoon Faces   |:
Dear Aki,

I just sketched some faces to find out how I add emotions and facial
expressions to portraits and characters. The trick is: there are three elements
in a human's face that express emotion. If just one of these doesn't show the
right emotion, the overall impression won't be what you'd like it to be.

So
always pay attention that the eyes (the shape formed by the eyelids and the
position of the eyeballs), the eyebrows (their position and shape) and the mouth
(position and shape) harmonically express the same emotion.

To achieve symmetry
(although perfect symmetry doesn't exist in nature) I rely heavily on
helper/indicator lines. Using these lines I always know where to place eyes,
nose, ears etc. in a symmetrical way. So it may help you, if you add some more
indicator lines showing where to place the elements of the face.

Hope this
helps and happy drawing

Thank you very much. Your drawing lessons teach us the beginners in a simple and
comprehensive way! I think, now they could go little bit forward.
